The article is devoted to the events of the military conflict in the Chechen Republic. At the turn of the XX-XXI centuries, the Chechen Republic became the site of a clash of geopolitical interests of Western countries. It was here that issues of preservation and strengthening of the Russian Federation were resolved. The Chechen people experienced a terrible tragedy at that time. The war that unfolded here brought colossal losses among the inhabitants of the republic.
