The article deals with the problem of denationalization of the Russian-speaking children in Poland during the pre-war period. The utilized methods, instrumental in resisting the process in focus, are studied. The goal of the research is to reveal the cause of mass proliferation of denationalization process among migrant population and to study its aftereffects. A review of different tactics employed to modify denationalization practices is conducted, and versatile methods used to resist the process are studied. The practical efficiency and drawbacks of denationalization practice employed for Polish migrants are researched. Moreover, the author revealed some specifics characteristic of the Russian-speaking population of Poland. This population consisted of both migrants and indigenous Russian-speaking groups. However, both groups became a subject of denationalization process, and in spite of the difference in their legal position, they used similar ways to resist it. This scientific paper is based on the documents stored in the so-called “Prague Archive” (The State Archive of the Russian Federation, GARF, Moscow) as well as on the pre-war periodicals, published by migrants in Poland.
