The article deals with the process of annexation of Azerbaijan lands by the Russian Empire, namely in 1805 - Karabakh Khanate (May 14), Shaki Khanate (May 21) and Shamakhi Khanate (December 27), in 1806 - Derbent, Quba, Baku Khanates, and in 1809 -Lenkaran Khanate. The author justifies the conclusion that the feudal disunity and infighting did not allowed the Azerbaijan Khanates to keep their independence.
