Increasing energy efficiency as a necessary condition economic development

The article deals with the problems of modern economic development. It is noted that as a result of the growth in the energy used, global CO2 emissions in the world have increased significantly. Inefficient use of fuel and energy resources leads to the deterioration of the environmental situation in the country, significant losses in the economy. It was determined that the need to develop and implement energy saving programs at the national and regional levels was caused by energy crises. It was the crisis of 1973 that was the reason for the development and implementation of energy-saving technologies throughout the world. The authors point out that energy-saving equipment and technologies provide great opportunities for solving environmental problems of economic development, which is becoming more and more balanced. Thus, the growth of energy efficiency is a necessary condition for sustainable and innovative development, increasing the competitiveness of production in the domestic and foreign markets.
