In the Omsk region, lettuce is a popular vegetable crop; it is grown both in protected and in open ground. The wide distribution of lettuce is due to its cold resistance, high early maturity and good yield. Experiments on the study of lettuce were carried out in 2022-2023 at the Scientific Production Plant “Gardening” of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education Omsk State Agrarian University. 11 varieties of lettuce were selected as objects of study: Vitaminny, Pomegranate Lace, Dubachek MS, Lollo Rossa, Moscow Greenhouse, Hugin - leafy; Frillice - iceberg; Azart, Kucheryavets Odessky, Lollo Bionda - drumhead lettuce; Stanislav - romaine lettuce. During the research, phenological observations and biometric measurements of lettuce were carried out, and the most adaptive varieties for growing in a spring greenhouse were identified. Based on the results of studies of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.), it can be noted that the varieties Azart, Kucheryavets Odessky, Moscow Greenhouse, Vitaminny, Lollo Bionda are suitable for the use in spring greenhouses. Low growth rates were noted in the foreign varieties Frillice and Hugin, as well as in the Russian variety Dubachek MS; they did not reach an acceptable appearance by the harvest date. The romaine lettuce variety Stanislav did not show its varietal qualities in the experiment and had low germination and a very slow rate of development. The average yield of lettuce in the Omsk region was in the spring greenhouse within the range of 0.477-0.596 kg/m2.
