Retail trade and its role in social and economic development of a country

The article is formulating the hypothesis of causality between retail trade turnover and per-capita gross regional product, based on their dynamics. The literature survey shows evidence of several factors that influence retail trade development. Those factors include national currency exchange rate, household income and cost of living, infrastructure development and logistic network investments, both public and private.
