Retail of the Russian Federation: development trends and prospects

Estimates of the state and development of retail trade in the Russian Federation record a steady increase in the indicator over the past ten years (taking into account exceptions in certain federal districts). Moreover, the rate of this growth is significantly lower than the previous five-year plans. Thus, the country’s retail trade turnover over the past five years has recorded chain growth rates in the range of 2.6 % -6.2 % (2015-2018 compared with 2014-2017, respectively). The previous five years, since 2010 in 2014, showed an increase of 10.7 % -15.7 %. ar sales accounted for 6.1 % of the retail volume in the analyzed period. Shoes account for 2.3 % of the turnover, clothing 5.3 %, mobile phones and computers - 1.7 %. This sample for analysis is determined by the purpose of assessing the possibilities of forming the basis for the transfer of trade technologies. It is important to note the growing galloping turnover of electronic commerce: 1.5 times. Such trends are predetermined, including by the transfer of trade technologies to the Russian Federation. This article provides a detailed assessment of trends and prospects for the development of retail in the country, both in the context of federal districts and within the structure of the formation of its turnover.
