Retail trade in the system of reproduction relations: state and problems of development

Бесплатный доступ

The state of retail trade in the framework of the reproduction process is studied. A downward trend of retail trade turnover in the dynamics of years, its sensitivity to market-related external and internal changes, especially non-food products, was revealed. A lag in the growth rate of consumer goods production from their sales was found, and the relationship between retail trade and import deliveries was shown. As a result of the import substitution policy, the article describes the growth trend in the production of Russian food products in most positions, a decrease in food imports, and changes in the structure of imports of non-food products. The differentiation of income of the population, their stratification and the difference in spending on food consumption among households are indicated. The influence of the solvent population on the development of retail trade is shown. Three aggregated groups of the population were identified: according to their ability to make purchases, repay credit debts, and save. In this regard, both the growth of loans received, unpaid debts to banks, and the developing savings function of the population are established. It is indicated that each group affects the development of retail trade in its own way, up to the implementation of structural changes in trade formats on a price basis. It is noted that production and consumption adjust the functioning of retail trade in the context of reproduction.
