The Russian icon in museums in the USA

In this article the author considers collections of Russian icons in American museums, analyses historical and socio cultural factors that have conditioned their formation and composition. Despite the fact that there are no collections in the United States that are equivalent to first class collections in Moscow and St. Petersburg, some American museums have very good and interesting collections of Russian icons that have great artistic, educational and educational value.
