The third, final, part of the work (for the beginning, see "Perm University Herald, series Russian and Foreign Philology", 2009, issue 2 and 2010, issue 6) is devoted to Russian journalism reflecting decay of the traditional public consciousness based on Orthodox ethics and the Russian idea. Investigating F.M. Dostoevsky's, K.N. Leontyev's and V.S. Solovyev's views on the fate of Russia, the author of the article shows the crisis of the philosophical and religious consciousness of the Russian society of the late 19th century and comes to the conclusion that in the future it can be overcome and settled only through turning towards fundamental values of Russian culture proclaimed by great Russian literature as the main trend of its development.
