The purpose of this work is to trace the history of Russian sanitary de-tachment of the Red Cross in the Anglo-Boer War, to determine the motives of choice of life descendants of Kuskov Nikolai Ivanovich and his relatives in the period when the Russian revolutionary changes took place. Research task is to determine the motive for the archive data creating Russian sani-tary unit, the appointment of its head and a payroll of doctors, nurses and front-line nurses, the criteria for their selection, place the order and deploy-ment of the results of its work, as well as trace the way of life of participants. The article defines the squad, transferred its equipment and equipment, and discusses the difficulties on the route from St. Petersburg to the Anglo-Boer War, the reception unit president Paul Kruger, the Boer republics. Selecting the location of the deployment of the main Russian detachment of his party, the location of the hospital and the military-field hospitals, the quantity of members is studied. The reasons for extending the travel doctor Kuskov squad return to their homeland and rewarding participants, the official re-port on the trip to South Africa are given in the study.
