Russian mentality and European identity. The linguistic and linguo-mental aspects

The article represents the results of the linguistic-cognitive reconstruction, interpretation and comparison of the lexico-semantic fields “Russian Mentality” and “European Identity”. The linguistic materials were extracted from texts belonging to the sphere of humanitarian scholarship, where these mental phenomena were being represented and analysed, while only the core parts of those fields comprising studied words and word-combinations, were taken into consideration. The study is undertaken within the traditions of cognitive linguistics, it is based on the method of linguistic reconstruction of the semantic fields on the par with lexico-semantic and and cognitive-discursive analysis.
