Region building materials and structures market: status analysis and development challenges (using the example of the Republic of Buryatia)

The article is devoted to the study of the state of the market for building materials and structures in the Republic of Buryatia, as a region introducing a significant part of building materials and structures from other regions of the country and from abroad, but having a large resource potential for the development of the industry of building materials and structures. The dynamics of prices for certain groups of building materials and structures for 2020-2021 and in the period from March to September of this year was analyzed; highlighted the main factors that determined the pricing trend in the regional market. The main participants of the regional market for building materials and structures are shown; an assessment of the competitiveness of retail chains selling imported construction materials and structures produced in the region was given. The interaction and interdependence of the business activity of large construction organizations engaged in construction in the region and retail chains selling imported construction materials and structures produced in the region is shown. Problems and trends in the development of the regional market for building materials and structures have been identified. Recommendations were given to improve the situation on the market of building materials and structures of the Republic of Buryatia in the context of the continuation of the sanctions policy of Western countries against Russia and the implementation of the most important task of import substitution.
