Sacral geography of Vyatka southern towns: intersection of heathen and Christian worldviews

The article studies cultural landscape semantics of medieval towns of the southern Vyatka. The sacral geography of the given cultural locus is represented as an interpenetration of the Mari heathen text and Russian spatial image that absorbed both official Orthodox ideology of the Moscow Russia and cultural meanings of the folk Orthodoxy. The author researches in detail polysemantic features of the cultural landscape of the region, interpreted as a system of sacral places.
