The article gives a clear account of the problem, little-known outside India. It relates to the struggle of the Indian government against Maoist movement. This armed conflict is carried on in some states. CPI (Maoist) members, named naxalits in India, involve people from backward tribes into their groups. The government uses people from the same tribes along with special troops and police for armed rebuff against Maoists. Indian human right campaigners consider such governments actions nonconstitutional and leading to the civil war. The author entirely shares this point of view.

India, maoism, civil war, revolutionary power, immigrant camps, violence, human rights campaigners, naxalits, adivasi, unlawful military units
