Suicides in children and adolescents - what is happening and what may be the reason?

A review of existing sources from all continents shows that during several last decades suicide rates among the youngest populations is growing. Among the reasons of it the pressure of the western culture may be named which provokes consumerism, individualism, competitiveness, hedonism, evolution of values and growing problems of mental health in children and adolescents. It is associated with enhanced psychosocial stress, which is dependent on inequalities, loneliness, family crisis and lack of social support. Globalization and universal development of information technologies makes these influences even stronger and as a result, bigger contingents are involved.
