Sanctions as a mechanism of economic development of agricultural regions of Russia

The article discusses the key development challenges of agrarian regions of Russia in the context of sanctions. The authors consider the possibility of using sanctions as a factor encouraging resolution of the long-standing problems in the development of the agricultural sector and the economy of Russia as a whole. The authors suggest some options of how to resolve existing problems by transition to the innovative development of the agricultural sector, modernization of its state regulation, diversification of the economy, domestic investment, thus creating conditions for employment of economic development resources of the Russian agrarian regions. It is concluded that resolution of problems of agrarian regions' development depends on the comprehensive, in-depth approach at the state level.
