Peregrine falcon in a middle course of the Chusovaya river

This article reviews the results of long-term monitoring of breeding success the peregrine falcon at the Nature park «Chusovaya River» and its surroundings. Number of breeding territories in the Park under observation currently 15. Another 2 territories are located in the adjacent to the Park. Also we have credible information about 2 breeding territories. Peregrine falcons are choosing a place for the nest in a few days before the ice-break. In this period recreational stress is practically zero. Later, the stress is increasing unevenly on different breeding territories and leads to varying of breeding success of pairs. Along with successful breeding pairs we observe all variants of mortality the offspring at the other nests. Based on the results of our monitoring we recommend to regulate recreation on the protected area for the period of nesting peregrine falcons.
