The purpose of the research was to use the variety as a method of controlling the pest of winter soft wheat bedbug-harmful turtle The degree of damage to winter wheat varieties by bedbug-harmful turtle was estimated according to GOST 33538-2015. The results showed that the content of 3% of grains damaged by bedbug-harmful turtle already has a dramatic effect on the bread and baking properties of flour. If there is a strong infection observed in the years of mass reproduction, bugs-harmful turtles reduce the yield by 50% or more and can completely destroy it. In the years of a strong outbreak of damage, when even the variety taken as a standard was damaged by an average of 6%, the best resistance to damage by the bedbug - harmful turtle was found in the studied collection set of varieties, lines and samples: Donskoy Mayak and line 1393/04 showed strong stability over three years of research and when determining the grain for damage, the results showed 0% of the damaged grains. In the Donschina and Znakhidka Odesskaya varieties, on average, 0% of damaged grains were detected over three years, but in 2006, a weak damage phenomenon of 0.3 and 0.2% was observed. Zernograda 10 has an average over three years of research of 0.3% of damaged grains as a varieties Perlina. In the SERI variety, the susceptibility to damage by the bug is 0.5% on average over three years, and in the Samanta variety, 0.7%.
