Selection of oats for resistance to dusty smut in FRC "Nemchinovka"

The article presents the results of the work of the laboratory of selection and primary seed production of oats in the Federal Research Center «Nemchinovka» for the creation of new varieties of oats resistant to dusty smut. In the study, the method of Reed was modified to infect seeds with teliospores of a dusty bunt. The developed technique allows to reduce labor costs and to estimate up to 400 or more assorted samples to a dusty smut. With the use of this technique, varieties Bulaniy, ZALP have been created, and the state variety testing Opole, Arkhan and the holo-grained variety Nemchinovsky 61.
