Rural youth of Yakutia in the 1970s - 1980s: a historiographical review

The study deals with the history of rural youth of Yakutia in the 1970s - 1980s. It provides a historiographical review of the researches on the youth issue. The paper notes that the social and economic situation of young people in the 1970s -1980s was a subject matter of social sciences and humanities. The main directions and the focus area of the conducted surveys are shown; their major findings are identified. The current researches address the problems of vocational guidance and employment of rural youth as well as the transforming youth values that are caused by the changes in village life, intensification and industrialization of agricultural production. The author identifies that the available studies improved scientific understanding of rural young people in Yakutia, their social dynamics, place and role in society. The paper reveals the aspects of the issue under review that have not been sufficiently covered by scientific literature (lifestyle of rural youth in Yakutia) and can be useful for further researches.
