Agricultural melioration in the Russian Far East

In the paper the author describes the history and application of wetlands reclamation in the Russian Far East in the period of 1861-2005. It is considered the principles and methods of melioration and hydraulic engineering, based on special observations and long researches of different properties of the soil; advantages and disadvantages of the activities on land improvement.
