Semantic structure of journalistic narrative

The aim of the present research is identifying the basic principle of the keyword’s meanings distribution and revealing how this principle is reflected at the structural level in English-language texts in the genre of longrid. The research material is the article by Samira Shackle “How western travel influencers got tangled up in Pakistan’s politics” published in the online version of the largest British newspaper Th e Guardian on November 12, 2020. The text of the article is considered as a structural and semantic whole unit and studied with semantic, syntactic, and compositional analysis. This article solves the issue of genre asymmetry of texts in this genre. The result of the study is to establish the principle of the keyword meanings distribution at the compositional level, namely, each value corresponds to a separate character of the article. Each keyword meaning illustrated by the actions of the corresponding character.
