Semantic core of Russian Vera "faith"

The meanings of the word вера [vera] ‘faith' in the Russian language are analyzed. The “core” of the nationwide vera ‘faith' semantics, similar to all the meanings of this noun, is revealed. The attention is paid to the word вера [vera] ‘custom' recorded in the Russian dialects and its derivates with the same meaning.
