The aim of the article is to reveal semiotic markers of status-related identity in political speeches of the representatives of American linguaculture based on presidential debates in the USA. Status-marked issue is quite urgent and of current interest in political discourse according to promising interdisciplinary social-semiotic approach. The methods of semantic and pragmatic interpretation, quantitative estimation are used in the study. Semiotic markers of status-related identity in symmetrical and asymmetrical situations of communication are analyzed from different linguistic perspectives. The results of the study can be used in such academic courses as Sociolinguistics, Semiotics, Stylistics and Pragmalinguistics.
