Family as an object of criminological research

The urgent problem of modern Russian criminology is the prevention of juvenile delinquency. The determinants of juvenile delinquency in Russia are very diverse, but the leading criminogenic factors are family problems and shortcomings of family education. The article considers some criminological aspects of family relations, substantiates the conclusion that it is necessary to study a dysfunctional family as a criminogenic factor. The main prevention of juvenile delinquency, family violence, as well as other crimes determined by dysfunctional marital and family relations should be the creation of conditions (economic, social, moral and psychological) for the formation of a socially prosperous family.
