On-line learning: formation and prospects for the development

The features of modern education are: possibility of accumulation and systematization of initial information and possibility of the organization and participation in discussions. On-line learning is a relatively new education paradigm based on the idea of mass collaboration, the ideology of open educational resources, and on-line interaction of participants. The article discusses the formation and development of education network services, describes different points of view on the modern education paradigm. The article presents the model of “virtual learning space“ as a system that includes the following structural elements: participants of the educational process, existing educational resources and resources created by the participants during the learning process, interaction between participants via network service.
