The article presents the study of the domestic service sector structure with the aim of discovering its nature. The author has given precise definitions of the service sector to reveal functional features of its components and pointed out the domestic service sector specific features typical for the current level of economic and innovative development of the country. The relationships between the structural features and types of innovative changes and service sector as an object of these changes have been established.
