Chess, the war, the siege of Leningrad in the life of M.N. Volkovysk (1903-1986)

In the research work "Chess, the war, the Siege of Leningrad in the life of M.N. Volkovysk (1903-1986)", separate pages of the biography of chess arbiter Mikhail Nikolaevich Volkovysk in the context of the history of Leningrad and the USSR have been restored. This study is based on the analysis of documents from the Central State Archive of St. Petersburg and the Central Naval Archive, address books of Petrograd/Leningrad, memoirs of friends of M. N. Volkovysky. The work uses photographs from the Central State Archive of Film and Photographic Documents of St. Petersburg, articles from the newspapers Leningradskaya Pravda and Smena for 1943 and 1944, recordings of radio broadcasts for 1943 from the Central State Archive of Literature and Art of St. Petersburg.
