Shalabolinsky petroglyphs: experience of trasological research

Several petroglyphs were investigated in the lower level of the Shalabolinsky rockart site with the aim of identifying if they had been made by stone or metal tools. The method, previously developed, was applied: silicone mass was used to make small imprints of the petroglyph fragments. The positive casts made from the silicon imprints were investigated in the laboratory. The petroglyphs made by stone and metal tools were identified.
