Chances of small business in Russia in the context of the coronavirus pandemic

The article deals with measures aimed at promoting the development of small businesses in the context of the coronavirus pandemic. The relevance of the research topic is due to the fact that small businesses are currently going through extremely difficult times, since most entrepreneurs practically do not have reserves to cover losses that were formed during the “Downtime”. In addition, a sharp decline in household income and effective demand is expected, which will lead to a decrease in revenue compared to the same period of the previous year, so that losses will be more than one month. The authors set a goal to develop and propose urgent measures to support small businesses based on the formation and improvement of the system of methods of state regulation of small businesses and the existing foreign experience, to justify significant economic losses of this sector in 2020. Tasks. Based on the analysis of the dynamics of indicators of small business development, calculate the losses for the national economy from the reduction of small entrepreneurship. Research the existing foreign experience in supporting small businesses and develop urgent government measures to prevent the collapse of this sector. The basis for the proposed measures is an analysis of the state of small business in the Russian Federation and the effectiveness of existing programs to promote the development of small businesses in the country. Based on the research, the authors made a forecast of the prospects for the development of small businesses in Russia in 2020. When writing the article, we used methods of statistical data analysis, economic and mathematical methods that allow us to make forecasts and prospects for the development of small and individual businesses in Russia. The authors analyzed the state, dynamics of development and trends of changes in socio-economic indicators of small business development in the country. The main provisions and conclusions of the article can be used in the scientific and practical activities of state regulatory bodies in the field of promoting the development of small businesses.
