Method for reconstructing internal radiation doses for the population based on the conservative assumptions adopted in official methodologies and dose calculations for catalogues

Procedures for reconstructing internal radiation doses for the population are discussed based on the conservative assumptions used in official methodologies and dose calculations for catalogues. The technique allows internal radiation doses to be adequately reproduced for the population living in settlements listed in official dose catalogues. It also serves to estimate numerous doses for locations with the 137Cs deposition density below 37 kBq/m2 not listed in dose catalogues and to estimate doses in areas with higher density of 137Cs deposition. The developed methodology is used in the NRER for dosimetry support to radiation-epidemiological study of the Chernobyl accident consequences.
