It’s considered that sleep-wake cycle disruption is secondary to the main disease in schizophrenic patients. But this is not true. The CNS glymphatic system discovery changes the existing paradigm because this system may fully work only during sleep. Unfortunately, effects of psychotropic drugs on sleep-wake system are not enough for CNS glymphatic system right functioning. We think that the inhalation therapy with cytokine mixture (instead neuroleptics) can be very helpful for resolve of this problem because it leads to restoration of normal (physiologic) sleep structure and, subsequently, glymphatic system recovery. These result in complete clinical remission. Supportive treatment is not required.
