Siberian silkworm in the Krasnoyarsk region

Siberian silkworm occupies a special place among insect pests of the Krasnoyarsk region. Periodic mass outbreaks of this pest lead to drying out of forest stands in large areas of boreal forests. Which, in turn, leads to a change in the habitat of animals and a change in the forest landscape.
