Siberian regionalism: XIX - the beginning of the XX century

In domestic political and historical thought "regionalism" is located away from political theories which defined ideological picture of Russia of XIX-XX centuries. The majority of leading political parties and currents of the Russian Empire did not attach to the movement of regionalism of Siberia any serious significance. They looked at it as local conflict of the center and the periphery which did not deserve any attention and did not have any independent theoretical base for the development. Such position unfortunately found the reflection in historical literature when the movement of regionalism was not noticed, and even was simply ignored by scholars-historians. However, considerable interest of researchers (first of all Siberians) to considered subject was swept up recently. Analyzing theoretical researches of regionalism, it should be noted a certain confusion, eclecticism in their views. In this doctrine the interlacing of absolutely different, quite often contradicting each other directions was noticeable: populist radicalism and conservatism, slavophilism and westernism, unitarianism and federalism...
