The article deals with formation of the symbol elements of the coat of arms in the Primorye region in the late 19 th century. The author considers adoption of the symbols, reveals typical delusions in interpretation of the Primorye region symbols in the first coat of arms of the Khabarovsk city. The author analyzes semantic meaning of the coat of arms’ elements.
