Synonym representation of the concept "reason" in English and Russian languages

Comparative analysis of synonymous fields of the English lexeme «reason» and the Russian lexeme «razum» has been made in this article. In the process of etymological description of the synonyms, possessing common basic meanings, presence or absence of linguistic affinity of studied lexemes has been discovered.
