Syntactic derivation in Leonid Murzin's conception and urgent problems of the Russian syntax

The article covers the basic concepts and methodological foundations of the derivational syntax, developed by Professor Leonid N. Murzin and forming the basis of The Perm derivatologic school. The heuristic and explanatory possibilities of the derivation theory are analyzed. It is shown that the dynamic approach allows us to find a new solution to many urgent problems of the historical and synchronic syntax (the origin of a complex sentence, the question of the grammatical nature of a collocation, its relationship with the syntax of the text, etc.).
