The paper deals with the details of Syrian and Russian foreign policies’ coverage in UK mass media. The author analyses how the media discourse is being constructed on this topic via the tone of publications, the frequent use of certain vocabulary and personal bias when covering some political figures and movements. This leads to the conclusion that the vast majority of publications on Syria and Russia are negative as V. Putin and B. al-Assad are being constantly bashed, their personal and public activity is downplayed. This fact can be mostly attributed to massive discord over the regional and international balance of power as Moscow and Damascus challenge the Western hegemony which Britain is a large part of.
