For the first time, studies of rhyolite quartz porphyry samples were carried out at a modern level. In these samples in 1966 1967 B.A. Goldin, N.P. Yushkin and M.V. Fishman discovered a new mineral chernovite yttrium arsenate. As a result, it was found that in nature there is not only chernovite itself, but also a complex mineral system called the chernovite system, which is formed by chernovite, xenotime, yttrosilicate of the composition Y4 [SiO4]3, three rows of binary solid solutions chernovite xenotime, chernovite yttrosilicate, xenotime yttrosilicate and triple chernovitexenotime yttrosilicate solid solution. Wide variations of minerals and solid solutions of the chernovite system in composition are a reaction to the peculiarities of the geological environment and the conditions of mineral formation.
