The system of formation of people's courts in the RSFSR in 1948-1949 (on the example of the Krasnoyarsk Territory)

The article is devoted to the study of the peculiarities of the formation of people's courts in the RSFSR in 1948-1949. The author analyzes the historical, legal and political context of the election campaign for the election of people's judges and lay judges in the Krasnoyarsk Territory during the period under study. Special attention is paid to the election results and their impact on the further development of the state. In conclusion, the author concludes that the elections of judges and lay judges in the RSFSR in the 1948-1949-ies became an important milestone in the development of Soviet justice. The changes being implemented sought to democratize the judicial system, attract new people to positions dedicated to serving justice, increase the requirements for candidates, and establish greater judicial independence.
