System of the assessment the regional background level of chromosomal aberrations

Results of long-term cytogenetic monitoring of Kemerovo oblast territories allowed to define the main approaches and problems at the assessment of regional background level of chromosomal aberrations. The system, allowing to standardize its definition is offered. A number of stages and criteria of selection of groups for assessment of a basic level of chromosomal mutability in the region is offered. Results of use of this system on the example of the large industrial region – Kemerovo oblast are characterized.
