The article explores the current issues of ensuring the personal safety of law enforcement officers during the performance of their official duties in high-risk situations. The work of Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs officers is often associated with exposure to dangerous and extreme factors, including opposition from lawbreakers, increased psychoemotional stress, limited time for decision-making, and unpredictable operational conditions. The article examines the main types of threats to personal safety that arise during operational and service activities, as well as the reasons for their occurrence. Special attention is paid to the importance of professional, tactical, and physical training for employees of internal affairs bodies, the formation of stable skills for safe behavior, and compliance with established personal safety measures. The role of psychological stability, stress resistance, and self-control in preventing the negative consequences of high-risk service situations is analyzed. Based on a theoretical analysis of scientific sources and a generalization of the practical experience of internal affairs bodies, the main directions for improving the personal safety of employees are identified, including the improvement of the training system, the development of professional competencies, and the implementation of preventive measures aimed at reducing the level of service-related injuries and preserving the lives and health of employees.
