Traditional linguistics and contemporary linguistics are viewed from the point of view of their attitude to the two main approaches in linguistic investigation – systemcentric and anthropocentric; contemporary linguistics is considered to be systemanthropocentric, the start to such approach was given by the theory of speech acts.
