The article examines the issues related to the implementation of the social credit system in China, its perception by society, and the search for solutions. China today is one of the leaders in digitalization, as evidenced by the scale of funding for the development and implementation of new technologies, and the keen attention of state institutions and the scientific community to the issues and problems of applying digital technologies in various spheres of Chinese society. The study of a significant amount of empirical material on the application of AI systems in social reality, particularly in the development of social credit, allows the authors to conclude that there are concerns in China about the potential risks of applying the social credit system. According to the authors, the successes in the development of social credit are driven by traditional Chinese non-anthropocentric worldviews, which focus on a holistic perception of the world, harmony in the relationship between humans and the world, and principles of respect for elders and law-abiding behavior, based on the ethics of traditional Chinese teachings.
