The article attempts to comprehend the phenomenon of schoolshooting - armed attacks by students on educational institutions through the phenomenon of transgression - one of the key concepts in the philoso phy of postmodernism. It is shown that murder is transgressive in its essence and variety of its forms. Schoolshooting appears to be a destructive variant of a transgressive act (as interpreted by Georges Bataille) as an aggressive act of going beyond moral, legal and religious boundaries. The Limit construct (the sixth commandment of the Decalogue “Thou shalt not kill”) is analyzed as an interpretation of a special value-semantic formation. The behavior of shooters is viewed through the prism of malignant narcissism. As illustrations of its manifestation, a meaningful analysis is carried out of the statements of mass murderers, set forth by them in the so-called "manifestos" in the form of speculative false philosophical ideas of "equality with God" and "death of God", as a justification for their criminal intentions. The post-homicidal suicides of school shooters are interpreted from the standpoint of postmodernist discourse about death. The symbolic and communicative nature of the act of committed violence and suicide, which requires reading as a text, is emphasized. It is pointed out the need to form appropriate internal barriers to the Limit, which do not allow the potential possibility of committing murders - as one of the main conditions for the prevention of such crimes.
