The article contains the brief survey of the offensive operation of the Southwestern front under the high commandment by General A.A. Brusilov during the campaign of 1916 of the World War II (the so-called «Brusilov offensive»). The main attention is concentrated on such aspects of the problem which represent the object of the history of military art as the part of military history.
