An «Investigator-victim» in criminal literature: on typology of the hero and genre

The article examines genesis and typological peculiarities of one of the main subjects of investigation in criminal literature that is a potential victim of the crime. An attempt is undertaken to elucidate the connection between this type of a detective and genre characteristics of literary works with such a hero.
