This article is devoted to the investigation of vehicle tracks. In this article, based on a set of theoretical and practical studies of scientific and methodological literature, for a full understanding of the definition and features of the vehicle tracing methodology, the concept of vehicle traces, its concept, research features, its tasks and methods, and the variety of tracks Vehicle. Currently, the relevance of this study is due to the fact that the inaccuracy of the study of transport traces adversely affects the expert practice and the quality of expert opinions. Recently, the number of vehicles in Russia has increased significantly. The level of safety of use of vehicles has a direct impact on the sustainability of socio-economic development, as well as on the efficiency of transport infrastructure. It should be noted that the special forensic significance of research on vehicle tracks consists in the possible establishment of certain and important circumstances of road traffic crimes, crimes against the person, as well as crimes against property, in cases involving the use of vehicles.
