«Slovo o zabyvshih greshnyh (the word of forgotten sinners)»: to the problem of commemoration in Ust-Tsilma cultural tradition

The article deals with traditional ideas of Russian priestless Old Believers, who live in the Ust-Tsilma district of the Komi Republic, about tradition of commemoration of the departed. The article is based on the field data, collected by the author: oral stories of Ust-Tsilma peasants and a handwritten text - "Slovo o zabyvshih greshnyh" - that reveal folk understanding and the role of religious rites in "commemoration of the departed".
